The Times Shows Wishful Thinking on Global Warming
An editorial wonders how the next president will "confront global warming and rising fuel prices?" Yet the Senate bill being debated addresses global warming...by raising fuel prices.

The Times' lead editorial on the end of the Democratic primary tries to have it both ways, suggesting ludicrously that the United States can both combat global warming and high fuel prices.

How will the United States, after seven years of damaging inaction, confront global warming and rising fuel prices?

Just how does the Times propose confronting global warming without raising fuel prices? After all, the Warner-Lieberman climate change bill it favors is designed to raise carbon prices, which will raise the price of gas (and food, etc.). It has to, otherwise it wouldn't work.
